Auction Rules

Please read these rules and instructions very carefully before proceeding to bid and in conjunction with the information found on “Our Promise” page. By bidding we will assume you have read and agreed with all points in these documents

  1. Bidding starts at 18:00 on 22nd January 2013
  2. Online bidding will stop at 18:00 on the evening of the final live auction event – proposed date 28th February 2013 (tbc) when the auction page will be removed from the website… Best and final bids shall then be taken at the live auction event, on this evening of Thursday 28th February 2013 (tbc)
  3. Winners will receive a winning email on closure of the event and will also be announced on our website at 12:00 on Friday 1st March 2013
  4. You must register here to place your first bid, you will then be sent an email with a password and a link. The first time you log on you will have the option to change this password and return to the website by clicking the ‘cara a cara’ link at the top left corner of the page
  5. The minimum bid per diptych is £50
  6. Incremental bids thereafter will be a minimum of £5
  7. The artist is not eligible to bid on their own artwork
  8. All dimensions of artwork stated are approximate
  9. Cara a cara reserves the right to disqualify or reject any bids made during or after the auction, if they seem false or do not qualify
  10. Winning bidders must pay the winning bid price within 48 hours of the final auction event closing, or on receipt of the winning email notification (wic. Failure to do so may result forfeiture of the item, and the next highest bidder winning the artwork in question
  11. Payment will be made to Bernice Wilson, the project leaders personal Paypal account (benice_w@yahoo.com) on behalf of the cara a cara project (see our promise page). Please do not bid if you are not happy with this
  12. The winning bidder has the right to withdraw, but we request that you do so immediately upon notification so that we can name the next highest bidder the winner
  13. Should shipping be required cara a cara shall endeavour to source the best price and send a further Paypal invoice for this amount to be paid prior to shipping. Unless the buyer wishes to make personal arrangements
  14. Once an artwork has been legally transferred over to the winning bidder, we (cara a cara) cease holding any liability over the artwork. Any damages incurred due to its transit, use or misuse is not the responsibility of cara a cara. We will however endeavour to package with great care for shipping, should this be required
  15. Although artwork may be listed on this site as being available for bidding, we reserve the right to remove any artwork from bidding at any time, for any reason
  16. All items successfully purchased by the bidder must be collected or have postal arrangements confirmed within 5 working days of the final auction event. The expenses incurred in moving the artworks are the winning bidder’s alone
